I think your instinct is a good one. Something felt off and you protected yourself and that’s good. I don’t know what kind of drugs this guy was on but it sounds like he let his life go out of control. If you feel like he’s going to pull you down you owe it to yourself to keep away.

Obviously nobody can read her mind, but here’s what I personally would consider the most likely scenario:
Sounds like the two of you were friends, then she caught wind that you had a crush on her. However, she didn’t return the feelings so she distanced herself from you instead of having a conversation about it.
Now she finds herself at the same college as you and is still uncomfortable by this but is trying to be normal and just not interact with you. She didn’t choose to be in the same class as you because of you. She almost certainly was just as surprised as you were.
I understand tbh I want to trust this guy, just don’t have the best impressions of him just because wanting to go travelling with someone is quite an extreme step, they only knew each other 3 months prior to her meeting me. Idk I think I am being somewhat controlling I just don’t know how to get it out of me, I really want to and I think the best way for me to do so is to meet the guy. Like I trust this girl with everything and I don’t want to push her away with these silly thoughts but I can’t stop having them it’s so annoying, like one second I’m fine with it then I’m not and it’s legit the holiday thing tbh.
