  1. Well, in two months you'll see. Not a terrible length of time to wait.

Amicable breakups exist and it makes sense for people to wait out their lease.

  2. I don’t think you can really talk her out of the relationship since you’re right that you’ll just make her defensive.

Maybe talk about how excited you are in college, how much you’re enjoying your 20s, see if you can get her to come to the realization on her own that she’s throwing away her youth. Encourage her to get on long-term birth control. This guy seems like the sabotaging type.

  3. unspoken part is “but I WOULD be interested if I wasn’t spoken for…” or that their availability solely hinges on them being in a relationship or not.

To be fair, that's probably true for a lot of men. Well I don't wanna speak on behalf of all men, but if a moderately attractive women wanted to get in my pants, the only thing stopping me would be my relationship

  4. For future reference, had he just had the thoughts, would that be reason enough to leave?

I'm very concerned about your personal threat assessment capabilities and self-preservation instincts.

You do not want to be spending time with people who have thoughts of harming you. Especially if they are unhinged enough to tell you about those thoughts. If they are rational, they know voicing those thoughts would frighten you and that they should seek mental health help, NOT frighten their desired victim with their disturbing thoughts. Not seeing that does not speak well to his mental state or impulse control.

Does he think he deserves a cookie for not finding an opportunity to rape you? Anyone who thinks “I could have raped you but I didn't” is a sign that they are a good person is NOT a good person. It doesn't occur to good people that rape is even an option on the table.

  5. This is horribly abusive, yes. Please reach out to any friends of family who can help give you the support and strength you need to leave this miserable excuse for a man. All the very best to you.

  6. Why bother OP ? You are in a good place emotionally. You’ve made the discovery and dealt with your demons. Why not just let nature take its course. She wants to move out and will do it. You now want her to move out. Win ! Win !

By not fighting over it, you will retain your good guy status and her guilt might make her more likely to concede stuff to you. Work out what might be contentious and make your plans accordingly. While she’s still in the land of rainbows and unicorns she will give things up much more easily.

Sounds like for now at least. The relationship had run its course. You can bet that she will be back at some time in the future with the old ‘I’ve made a terrible mistake’ shit. Don’t weaken. Good luck.
