True narcissism cannot be cured. A true narcissist cannot admit fault or that their version of reality isn't real and as a result will never conform to others view of right and wrong.
That being said, people can have narcissistic traits and not be a true narcissist but that can still have an impact on your kids because they pick it up (my in-laws are both True Narcissists and my wife has spent our entire relationship unlearning toxicity).
Start challenging his behaviour and actions and see how he acts. Keep a record of what you've challenged his response and the actions he agrees too. That way you can see if he's truly trying to change and if not it stops him gaslighting you.

Yeah, I don't think the OP is trying to push to adopt the kid… OP just seems distraught over a bombshell that involves someone else having what she wants – her husbands kid.
Age thing aside? This is a huge bomb in the middle of the relationship. Husband has a kid… with an ex… and OP can't have a kid and is distraught over… all of it.

Your boyfriend is very comfortable in the status quo. You’re the only one feeling angst about it. Why do you think he would magically decide to get a job next year? And what makes you think he would be able to get a job next year?
He moved into your place and he’s making sweeping decisions about how the house is run? Absolutely not.
I mean everyone here has already told you as much, cheating is cheating, regardless of circumstance, intent or reason. He made a series of decisions that led to the cheating, it wasn't out of his control.

Find a guy who is attracted to you.
It sounds like your boyfriend is really into a certain body type. He needs to go find a woman who is petite and you need to find a guy who is in to you. Obviously you will not have a problem finding a guy that is interested in you.
I'd also say that there is probably something more going on with your boyfriend. Not having sex in months is just fucking odd. Even if he isn't as attracted to you it just is off. 28 year old guys usually have high libidos. IT very well could be a problem he is having and he is putting that shit on you.
