Yeah, if she was musing about an unrealistic wish (that apparently she was considering funding?) he didn't need to argue with her and then curse at her about not paying for it. I've said this before, but people who are obsessed with their partner “respecting” them often weird me out a bit and this doesn't change things. It's like he thinks he should be able to buy politeness and deference, and when it turns out he can't he punishes her by withdrawing. Versus questioning what has broken down in their communication or whether he has gotten himself into a relationship with someone unkind who only values him for his money.

Another vote for this book! This book applies even if he hasn’t become physically abusive yet. (Which he likely will, before it’s physical it’s verbal/emotional and before he hits you, he hits near you) this book helped me understand so much about my narcissistic emotionally/verbally abusive ex. Please get this book and leave OP. Don’t let him see the book either. -leave -read this book -ideally never have contact w him again but if you’re tempted to, at least make sure to wait until you’ve read the whole book so you know everything to watch out for & the tactics he’ll try to lure you back in.
