My ex wife at around the same age made the same jokes. Its a longer story but we did end up having kids before I or we were ready.

Depends on your weight and his strength. I had women that were worried while they weighed 50kg with shoes on so I literally didn't feel a thing. 1) When do you want to look at purchasing a house together? Will it be in only one name or both names?
2) How will you split bills? (Assuming you don't live together already).
3) General budgeting expectations (will she work or be a SAHM/SAHW? Will she work full time? Part time? Banking decisions on joint or separate accounts?).
4) What types of debt do you guys have?
5) (not financial) Why does she think tradition is the way to go when that money could be used to begin building a tangible future for the two of you? I think this is the question she really needs to answer and her answer needs to be thoughtful and sit right with you.
Ask these questions in any order you want. Probably during a quiet time where you guys can really sit and talk. The fact that you don't want to spend this ridiculous amount on a ring and she thinks you should for “tradition” and won't explain further is a but concerning and indicates a huge difference in financial responsibility and commitment to the relationship.

also, i am complaining about MY financial stress about not being able to pay rent and bills and stuff, not complaining about not having things that i want. idk if that makes a difference in the situation but wanted to clarify.
Thinking about it, asking for money in a register is indeed committing a robbery. Most businesses are trained to comply when that sort of thing is demanded. Workers are trained NOT to argue, or ask to see a weapon; for their safety, as well as everyone in the store, they are suppose to hand it over then call the police as soon as the person leaves. But the example was a ridiculous one to use, for an entirely separate type of crime.

She didn’t accept me or message me back ??♀️ but this is the baby momma he had kid number #1 with then left, went back had kid number #2 then left again!!! He had to get dna tests on both of the kids because of their on and off relationship. But now I guess they’re back. I have no doubt they’ll be off again sooner than later. Just sucks because I was completely blindsided a heads up would’ve been nice. He probably wanted to have her in the other state and have me in our state ??♀️
