This OP. I did this cycle for just about 9 years. Full of gaighting to make me think I was the jealous or unreasonable one.
As some others have said, he could be on the spectrum. I have high functioning autism, and when I was young any kind of loud noise hurt my ears. It’s very common among folks on the spectrum.
You learn to work through it, but sometimes it is overwhelming or you just can’t.
