The real problem seems to be your attitude. Competitiveness and jealousy are what is really making you feel this way. If you keep comparing yourself to others there will always be someone who is better or worse than you. Just do your best at whatever you undertake and try and let go of being resentful of those who did better.
Pure assumption based solely on your own bias. I read it completely differently. I read it that OP knew what points he wanted to illustrate and this wrote his post in a way that would accentuate the story. Could be either.
