To be clear, I wasn't dismissive at all. I apologized that me not telling him upset him and I was sorry I didn't think about it. But I also was honest in saying that it was nothing personal against him and I also didn't directly tell any of our large friend group, they all found out via our posts on social media and all of them were very happy and said congrats.
And not only did I apologize once, but I actually apologized a second time as well. I wanted to talk things through with him like adults but his way of dealing with this has been to send a few very passive aggressive texts and then just ignore my responses entirely.
It's been very disheartening to me to say the least but he also has shown a pattern of overreacting with people and that he honestly enjoys being the bully in a lot of situations. He likes to make people feel crappy and feel justified in doing it, but he often goes at people over trivial things so it's never really justified. Being upset WAS justified here in my opinion and I'm not taking that away from him, it's more the fact that he really went about talking to me like a dick and then when I very calmly responded, he has ignored me.
