If it helps, I was always proud of being an “eternal optimist”. I had a lot of tough things I dealt with as a kid, and always thought I must be like tougher or something than other people because I remained so optimistic. But then as an adult I went through different struggles and lost almost all of my optimistic outlook. Looking back I realize I was able to be super optimistic when I was young because things always tended to work out for me, and many of the “negative” people I had met just weren't as lucky as I had been. Anyway, sorry if this is super wordy. My point was just those people who tend to have a more positive filter often haven't been through nearly as much crap/ or as severe of stuff as those who are less optimistic, so don't blame yourself if your outlook isn't as rosy as their's.
