This sub is hilarious. A woman can never just be kinda a shitty person and a guy can never be mostly blameless. But a guy can be shitty and a woman is always being gaslit.
Ouch! I learned the naked way that money or things I lend out will not be returned. The people I know who ask to borrow usually do not have the means or simply don’t care to return. I had thought everyone would be like me, I stress out about taking care of what doesn’t belong to me. Now my policy is that I’ll give what I can afford but I will not lend anything out. In any case, make sure you’re taking care of yourself. You sound pretty burnt out. Loving someone who is dealing with a serious mental illness is really difficult, and it’s commendable that you’re being there for her and stuff—but you also need to look out for your own happiness. Obviously I don’t know all the details, but sometimes people who are dealing with this kind of issue aren’t always able to be the best partners. It’s not their fault, and every relationship is going to have its ups and downs—but it shouldn’t be all about one person all the time. That’s not healthy. There’s gotta be some balance.
You should be open with your girlfriend about your struggles, too. Don’t be afraid to draw some boundaries (I.e., “let’s take a night off from talking about the ED situation and just spend some time doing things we enjoy.”) And know that you’re never trapped in a relationship that isn’t serving you, even if that person is sick. It might feel selfish or bring about feelings of guilt, but if you’re not happy in the relationship, you won’t be able to be a good partner to her either.

It's probably not unfairness that OP is feeling, but they didn't know how to classify their emotion. I think OP is disappointed. This sounds like it was working out otherwise. It will probably be the same “unfair” feeling she will have if OP leaves. Neither are being unfair, but I can get why it would be disappointing. It's always tougher when you like the person but have some irreconcilable differences. It's easier to move on when someone is clearly unpleasant.
